Share Your Event Date & Time

Thanks Jude, Its been busy days and I am working on video Edit. Hopefully it will be done by this week.

Sorry, I did post that on the “projects” page, but a summary. The challenge was : Make something (with the craft materials) and have it “do” something. Boys’ group made a duck sitting on a nest (nest was light wire and the tree was on a servo). Girls’ 1 made a monkey and giraffe with a tree (light wire) and Girls’ 2 (latecomers) made a garden of flowers, where one was turning (DC motor) and second was lit up (light wire).

Hi @chloeatplay,

finally here are some photos of our event here in Munich. We had technical - speak mechanical - issues so we couldn’t finish what we planned to build: A noise sensitve flower. :bouquet: But we had fun and I guess that’s the important part.

Here’s the link to the project page: http://littlebits.cc/projects/noise-sensitve-flowers-inventanything

Enjoy.

Cheers,

Matthias

@Milind It is great that you’re coming over to Munich. It is a pity that I will not be at home the next days for business reasons. Besides, there wouldn’t be much to see yet as we are just starting to build up our littleBits lab. I hope that you can enjoy your days in Germany and Austria anyway. What are you planning to do?

Cheers,

Matthias

This is such stellar documentation @matthiasmwolf - and so fitting to spring :sunflower: I m going to reshare on the chapters’ category as well.

On another note- what technical issues did you guys have? Maybe we can help you solve them for next time

It was mainly a mechanical problem. A servo was supposed to pull down a string which was attached to four “flowers”, which would fan out (see last image above). However, there was to much friction and the straw we used to guide the strings weren’t stiff enough. So we had a lot of twisting and bending and jamming when our time ran out.

Using wire instead of strings (e.g. florist wire) would have made things a lot easier I guess…

Cheers,

Matthias

Hi @chloeatplay,

there’s some news concerning the first event of the Munich chapter on June 20th in Germany:

  1. There’s a new name: Bits’n’Beatz. inventors’ camp will be the name for the chapter and is the organizer.
  2. There’s a new topic: littleBits workshop and 8bit live music.
  3. There’s a new website: www.bits-n-beatz.de
  4. There’s nothing new about date and location: June 20th, 2015 @ DieProduktMacher in Munich

Could you be so super awesome as to update the event data for this event?

Cheers,

Matthias

Hi all! Jack and I hosted a workshop at my local library this past weekend, which I shared on the project page: http://littlebits.cc/projects/library-workshop

Here is a cute instagram video the librarian took:

It was quick, easy, and a lot of fun!

Thanks for sharing Bridget (@Thingfully). Make sure you add this to your Chapter page-- that way we can promote it as the date approaches.

ahem. Although I am a digital veteran (with beginner’s mind)… I couldn’t figure out how to add it to my chapter page. Is there a URL that could walk me through posting on my chapter page? Perhaps it’s a function of my two emails for logging in…

I’ll show you on Friday when I see you in person! Make sure to remind me
