Thank you for the excellent a detailed breakdown. I think this clearly spells out that the Arturia Beatstep is not the best choice for driving the LittleBits synth.
but just let clarify, you wrote:

So you find the control of the the LB synth via the Sq-1 to offer approximately the same level of precision as adjusting voltage internally within the LB synth? If so that is very good news and the Korg SQ-1 will then be my choice.
It's a shame to give up pattern memory though. That is why I was very interested in the AB. What a shame korg didn't put some memory into the SQ-1 But I suppose better external control of voltages is probably the most desirable trait in this situation. So it's pretty hopeless to get a pattern in tune using the AB. That makes me sad.
