As humans, we love stories. Whether you think it exists in our DNA or not, story telling is an age-old craft that is as important today as it was thousands of years ago. We are keeping this tradition alive, by finding new and compelling ways to keep to tell stories.
Stories are incredibly powerful. They help teach us new things, persuade us and understand ourselves in new ways by providing meaning and even a sense of belonging. They can move, change and unite us in an instance.
Every culture has different ways of capturing and sharing stories. The folklorist and independent scholar Kay Turner once said: “Even if a story is the same, each culture will tell it differently, because each one has its own genres and cultural rules.”
Director Chris Milk gave an inspiring TED talk this past year about storytelling through technology, specifically virtual reality. Chris is well-known for creating game-changing music videos for U2, Arcade Fire and Kanye West.
How do you best tell stories? How might you be able to use littleBits to tell the stories of your communities?
