Hey @thebrendo @ptreadwell @mmalpartida @mpinner @mapdad @bumshakabum @macinspires!
@stan_littlebits and I went dark for a bit, but a lot has been happening behind the scenes. We are almost ready to open the mod to the world
Here's a peek:
As we're preparing for this, we've been reflecting on how to create the best experience - whether for play, learning, etc - that mashes up littleBits and Minecraft.
With this in mind, we want two things from you as we end the closed hack period:
1) Create a design challenge. What type of challenge do you think would get players to make the coolest, most interesting, etc projects? Intruder alarm? Mini-game? Post your ideas here and we'll sculpt them together. Then we'll test them on each other and with other community members over the next couple of weeks. Throw your thoughts up ASAP to get the conversation started!
2) Upload a project you have made to the Project page. Show us what it does, then tell us what your goals were for building it and how you made it. (Don't worry about documenting how to get started since the launcher will change.) Please post this within the next week so it's ready for the world to see
I also wanted to highlight a super thoughtful post by @ptreadwell. Despite my silence on this thread, I have been thinking about it extensively. I would love to hear others' ideas about how this combination of Minecraft and littleBits can support procedural literacy and systems thinking at a community level.
Let me know any questions - can't wait to see emerges from this crew
